Lifted Up

Leviticus 26:12-13
“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.  I am the Lord your God…I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.”

Luke 13:10-13
“On the Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.  She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.  When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, ‘Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.’  Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.”

Psalm 3:3
“But you are a shield around me, O Lord; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.”

Mighty God, you dwell in the highest heights, but the depths are not beyond your merciful reach.

lifted upr; When we stoop beneath the weight of weariness and shame, you take our bowed head in your hands and lift our eyes to see your face.  Our crippled spirits straighten with the honour of your touch.

Free us from the grasp of sin that binds us to earth.  Heal us where we are afflicted so that we rise affirmed by your love.

This we pray through Jesus Christ, who bore our crushing infirmities to lift us up to you, our Maker and our God.
