Job 38:1, 24-25
“Then the Lord answered Job out of the storm. He said; ‘…What is the way to the place where the lightening is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth? Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm…?’”
“A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”
“Be still, and know that I am God…”
Master of all, in your storehouse you keep each raindrop and every breath of wind.
Because you have infinite control, we are free to give up control. Because you wield unlimited power we are free to simply be still.
This we ask for the sake of him who stormed the gates of hell for us, forever dispersing all clouds of condemnation.
