1 Kings 19:11b-13

Mighty God, tempests form at the touch of your breath, and whirlwinds spin as your voice stirs them.

Though your power is displayed as nature obeys your bidding, you have chosen to speak to us in a gentle whisper.  To reach us you have sent your Spirit, who murmurs the tender consolation that we have been found by you.

Teach us to hear you in the stillness.  Open our ears to catch your sighing when we wander, so that we might return to your embrace.

This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ who loved us with his dying whisper, and saved us at the moment of his faintest cry.
