1 Chronicles 22:2
“So David gave orders to assemble the aliens living in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God.”

Ephesians 2:19-22
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.  In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.  And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

Isaiah 28:16
“So this is what the Sovereign Lord says, ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.”

Great King, you have designed a palace of people in which to dwell.

Christ is the stone chiselled by obedience and placed as our certain foundation.  In him slaves become sons, and foreigners, family.

Build us into a beautiful home for your Spirit.  May we be hewn by your loving hand so that we conform to the perfect lines of our Saviour.

We pray this in his precious name; the cornerstone cut and laid deep in the earth for us to rest upon.
