James 3:5-6

Holy and beautiful are you, Lord God Almighty.

By our untamed words we are guilty of igniting a blaze that burns foul and black.  Sin smoulders in our rebellious speech.

Touch our lips with forgiving fire.  May the coal of our confession that ‘Jesus is Lord’ refine and restore us.

Hear us for the sake of this atoning name that purifies the pyres we have set to flame.
