Job 38:1, 6b-7
“Then the Lord answered Job…’Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundations? Tell me if you understand…Who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?’”
“Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.’”
1 Peter 1:10-13
“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing…Even angels long to look into these things.”
Lord of all lords, to be in your presence is to worship you.
The angels watched, rejoicing, as you designed and created the beautiful earthly home you have given us. Again, they witnessed the opening moments of your redemptive masterpiece and thousands upon thousands could not contain their joy.
Open our ears to hear the chorus of praise ringing in the darkness of our unremarkable lives. Flood our senses with the wonder of the Creator presented to the created as one of their own.
Humbled that your favour rests so fully upon us, we ask this in the name of the Child born to complete our salvation, Jesus Christ. All glory be to him!
